22: "Appreciative Inquiry"
by Tom
Mastandrea, Human Resources Concepts, Ltd
"There
are only two ways to live your life. One is as
though nothing is a miracle. The other is as
though everything is a miracle.” --Einstein.
Appreciative
Inquiry (AI) fosters innovations by seeking out
the very best of "what is" to help
ignite the imagination of "what could
be.” The process expands the "realm of
the possible.” We envision a desired future
and successfully translate those images of
possibility into practice.
AI
has been used successfully in business,
healthcare and political settings throughout the
world. It is a tool for personal and
organizational growth.
In
this session we will:
-
Learn
how our hidden assumptions shape our
personal and organizational lives, and
affect the behaviors of other people.
-
Explore
the power of the unconditionally positive
question.
-
Investigate
the principles of AI’s“4 D” process
(Discover, Dream, Design, Destiny)
-
Conduct
an Appreciative Interview
-
Touch
the miracle of positive change
Working
in pairs and with our total group, we will build
a dream of the future based on the positive
energy that gives us the best of or lives.
