In its second
year, Camp Monadnock is the city
"camp" for big kids.
Not your standard
campsite, our campers meet in one of Chicago's
landmark buildings, the Monadnock Building... named after a mountain in New
Hampshire.
How
We Work
Our format is
based on the campfire circle (without the
campfire). Campers and counselors gather around an octagonal table in a warm,
friendly environment. Here, we participate in
interactive workshops, led by professionals
(staff counselors) who are experts in their
fields, including PhD's, authors, speakers,
consultants and coaches.
Our
Goal
Not that
different from the goal of summer camp when you
were a child. Learn new skills. Enhance your
self-esteem. Have fun. Meet new friends. But
rather than arts & crafts or hiking, we
focus on skills which are important to business
professionals.
What
We Learn
Each workshop
covers a different topic. A sampling of our
workshops--
- How to think
creatively
- Learning to
read nonverbal communication
- Conflict
resolution
- Learning how
to network and love it
- How to say no
and take charge of your life
